The Alice Ottley School (AO) was an independent all-girl school in Worcester which existed between 1883 and 2007. In 2007 the school merged with the Royal Grammar School Worcester to form a school which is now known as RGS Worcester. Between 1883 and 1914, the school was named 'The Worcester High School for Girls', before it was renamed to take the name of the school's first ever headmistress [1] and became 'The Alice Ottley School'.

Around 1845 a large 0-6-0ST, the Great Britain was built in Bromsgrove Works.
It stands near lock 57 (one lock below the top lock, 58) of the Tardebigge Locks on the Worcester and Birmingham Canal and contained a steam powered Newcomen-Watt beam engine, which was removed in 1915.[1] It was used to pump water from the adjacent Tardebigge feeder reservoir, which is about 50 ft (15.2m) below the level of the top pound of the canal.[2]
