The Regent Hotel

The first of the Regent Hotel's famous set of sporting visitors stayed at the hotel on the 8th April 1882. This group of aristocratic men had held a few other meetings around the county and had formed a cricket team. It was on this date however that Warwickshire County Cricket Club formally came into existence.[4] In the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s, according to Billy Wright's autobiography Captain of England the England national football team used to meet before they travelled to away matches abroad. More recently the cast and crew of the British comedy Keeping Up Appearances including Patricia Routledge, Clive Swift and Geoffrey Hughes stayed at the hotel whilst filming in Leamington.[5]

Radford Semele

Radford Semele is a village and civil parish in Warwickshire, England, close to the town of Leamington Spa. According to the 2001 UK census, Radford Semele parish had a population of 2,034.[1] It lies to the east of the town on the A425 road between Leamington and Southam. It has a 16th Century pub with a priest hole and a rumoured tunnel to the local church, St Nicholas[citation needed]. The local school is the Radford Semele Church of England School. This is a junior school and most senior school pupils go to school in either Southam, Leamington Spa or Warwick which are close by. As well as the parish church of St Nicholas, which burnt down in March 2008, the village also has a second church built in 1874, the Radford Semele Baptist Church.[2]

Leamington Spa

Royal Leamington Spa, commonly known as Leamington Spa or Leamington (pronounced /Ë?lÉ?mɪÅ?tÉ?n/ (listen)) or Leam (pronounced /Ë?lÉ?m/) to locals, is a spa town in central Warwickshire, England. Formerly known as Leamington Priors, its expansion began following the popularisation of the medicinal qualities of its water by Dr Kerr in 1784, and by Dr Lambe around 1797.[1] During the 19th century, the town experienced one of the most rapid expansions in England.[2]

Westwood Heath

Westwood Heath is a village which is now a western suburb of the City of Coventry in the West Midlands, England.[1] It is bordered by the suburbs of Canley and Cannon Park, and by the University of Warwick campus to the east, the suburb of Tile Hill to the north, the village of Burton Green to the west, and rural Warwickshire to the south.
