IIminsterThe town has a selection of shops including a traditional Edwardian-style clothing and soft furnishings store called Dyers. A Tesco store opened in November 2007.Woolhayes FarmThis site comprises swamp, mire and grassland habitats which are now rare in Britain. It is the largest known example of its type in Somerset and the communities present are near the western limit of their geographical range. The flora includes Corky-fruited Water-dropwort (Oenanthe pimpinelloides) which is a nationally scarce species. Breeding birds include Grasshopper Warbler (Locustella naevia) and Reed Bunting (Emberiza schoeniclus).[1]Chard, SomersetThe 36.97 hectares (91.4 acres) Chard Reservoir, around a mile northeast of the town, is a Local Nature Reserve. It is used for dog walking, fishing and birdwatching, with a bird hide having been installed.[20] Species which are spotted regularly include Herons, Kingfishers, Cormorants, Grebes, ducks and also a wide range of woodland songbirds. Others include the Great white egret, Cattle egret, and Spotted redshank.[21]Snowdon Hill QuarrySnowdon Hill Quarry (grid reference ST312089) is a 0.6 hectare geological Site of Special Scientific Interest on the western outskirts of Chard in Somerset, notified in 1963.Bradford on AvonNotable is the Saxon church (dedicated to St. Laurence), which may have been founded by St. Aldhelm around 705, and could have been a temporary burial site for King Edward the Martyr. It was re-discovered by Canon William Frampton in 1856, having been used for secular purposes (apparently becoming a house, a school and part of a factory).
