Barnoldswick

Barnoldswick was formerly served by Barnoldswick railway station, the only station on the Midland Railway's branch line off the Skipton to Colne Line, though this was shut under the Beeching Axe in 1965. The pressure group Selrap is currently campaigning for the reopening of the Skipton to Colne line, and although their plans do not include the Barnoldswick Branch, rail travel to the town would be improved by such a reopening. At present, would-be rail passengers must travel via Colne for trains serving Lancashire, or via Skipton for trains serving North and West Yorkshire.

Turf Moor

In 2007, plans for expansion of Turf Moor were released to the public. The Burnley directors proposed a major development of the stadium, costing £20 million. The plans, which would incorporate the rebuilding of the Cricket Field Stand and the moving of the players' entrance tunnel, have been put on hold until the current financial climate improves. In 2009, following Burnley's promotion to the Premier League, the development of a second tier on the Bob Lord stand was announced. Director Paul Fletcher stated that the anticipated capacity of Turf Moor would eventually be 28,000 to cope with extra fans.

Burnley

Local radio for Burnley and its surrounding area is currently provided by 2BR and BBC Radio Lancashire.

Rylstone

Rylstone railway station opened in 1902, closed to passengers in 1930, and closed completely in 1969.

Sharp Haw

Although Ordnance Survey maps do not show a path to the summit, there is a path from the public bridleway to the north: both are clear on the ground, and popular with cyclists.
