Cherrywood Road is the ground of Farnborough F.C. and the former home of Farnborough Town F.C. before the club went out of business in 2007. It lies in the town of Farnborough, Hampshire. The capacity of the ground was 4,900, with 627 seats. Recent improvements to the ground in 2008 and the current redevelopment of the Prospect Road End will lead to a larger capacity in the near future. Up to the mid 1970s Farnborough Town F.C. had played at Queens Road but moved due to the lack of facilities. Cherrywood Road was newly built with the help of a local company Worldwide Carpets. The ground was formerly called The John Roberts Ground but the name is rarely used with fans simply referring to the stadium as Cherrywood Road. For a period in the early 2000s it was known as the Aimita Stadium after the company of chairman/manager Graham Westley. The fans were against the renaming of the stadium by Westley and the name reverted back to Cherrywood Road following his departure in 2003.
The attraction of MES to British Aerospace was largely its ownership of Tracor, a major American defence contractor.[30] Since its creation the company has steadily increased its investment in and revenues from the US.
Following a low-level supersonic flypast and during a left bank at ~450 knots (833 km/h) toward the air show's 120,000 spectators, the pilot started a climb. The outer starboard wing and, immediately afterward, the outer port wing broke off the aircraft; followed by both engines and the cockpit--the latter injuring several spectators.[3] One engine broke into two sections and "ploughed into ... Observation Hill'', injuring and killing numerous other spectators.[3]
Alongside a managing interest in the bar (whose 'Landlord' was actually a College employee), the Bulmershe Students' Union provided a shop to meet every student need.[citation needed] Dee's Shop was a significant landmark on campus. And the weekly freesheet 'Bulletin', edited and produced by the Student Union (and at one stage by TV writer and Dr Who author Colin Brake), kept everyone up-to-date with news, events and gossip.
