Veizey's Quarry

Veizey's Quarry (grid reference ST881944) is a 1.4 hectare geological Site of Special Scientific Interest in Gloucestershire, notified in 1974.

Beverston

Beverston is a village and civil parish in the Cotswold district of Gloucestershire, England. According to the 2001 census it had a population of 132. The village is about two miles west of Tetbury. Beverston (also spelled Beverstone) is an example of a typical unaltered Gloucestershire Cotswold village. It is home to Beverston Castle dating to the 12th Century, a Norman Church (worth the walk from the main road, the A4135 road) and some good examples of Cotswold architecture.

Weston Milton railway station

All trains are operated by First Great Western. The basic pattern of services is for an hourly train between Weston-super-Mare and Bristol Parkway which calls at all stations. There are a few commuter services which run instead to Bath Spa and then on to London Paddington. These London services are generally operated by High Speed Trains which are too long for the platform, so only the front coaches are stopped alongside the platform.

Shiplate Slait

The site is underlain by Clifton Down Limestone, Burrington Oolite, Black Rock Dolomite and Black Rock Limestone of the Carboniferous Limestone Series. There is Dolomitic Conglomerate (Triassic Mudstone) at the lower edges of the site. The site has unimproved calcicolous grassland, some of which is mixed with dwarf-shrub, mosaics of calcicolous grassland and scrub and woodland. Four nationally rare types of vegetation form most of the grassland including Somerset Hair-grass (Koeleria vallesiana), Dwarf Sedge (Carex humilis) and Spring Cinquefoil (Potentilla tabernaemontani).[1]
