Gloucester Cathedral

The cathedral, built as the abbey church, consists of a Norman nucleus (Walter de Lacy is buried there), with additions in every style of Gothic architecture. It is 420 feet (130 m) long, and 144 feet (44 m) wide, with a fine central tower of the 15th century rising to the height of 225 ft (69 m) and topped by four delicate pinnacles, a famous landmark. The nave is massive Norman with an Early English roof; the crypt, under the choir, aisles and chapels, is Norman, as is the chapter house. The crypt is one of the four apsidal cathedral crypts in England, the others being at Worcester, Winchester and Canterbury.

Gloucester

It is located on the eastern bank of the River Severn, 114 miles (183 km) west north west of London. It is sheltered by the Cotswolds to the east, while the Forest of Dean and the Malvern Hills rise to the west and north, respectively.

Kingsholm Stadium

Kingsholm is well known amongst rugby union fans for its partisan supporters and its intimidating atmosphere, and is widely regarded as a superb venue for rugby. Kingsholm was used as a home stadium for England before they settled at Twickenham and also hosted New Zealand versus United States for a pool match in the 1991 Rugby World Cup.

Government Communications Headquarters

Before the Second World War, GCCS was a relatively small department. By 1922, the main focus of GCCS was on diplomatic traffic, with "no service traffic ever worth circulating"[9] and so, at the initiative of Lord Curzon, it was transferred from the Admiralty to the Foreign Office.[10] GCCS came under the supervision of Hugh Sinclair, who by 1923 was both the Chief of SIS and Director of GCCS.[4] In 1925, both organisations were co-located on different floors of Broadway Buildings, opposite St James' Park.[4] Messages decrypted by GCCS were distributed in blue jacketed files that became known as "BJs".[11]

Cheltenham Town Hall

Cheltenham Town Hall is an early twentieth-century assembly rooms in Cheltenham, England. Unlike most town halls, it is a public venue and not the seat of the borough council which is housed in the nearby Municipal Offices.
