West Runton railway station is a railway station in the village of West Runton in the English county of Norfolk. The station is served by local services operated by National Express East Anglia on the Bittern Line from Norwich to Cromer and Sheringham.
Historically, the town was served by two adjacent railway stations; the existing station served the Great Eastern Railway line from Norwich to Cromer High, while nearby North Walsham Town railway station served the now closed lines to Melton Constable via Aylsham, Melton Constable via Mundesley and Sheringham, and Great Yarmouth via Potter Heigham. North Walsham Town closed on 28 February 1959, with Main station renamed simply "North Walsham".

In April 2010[6] the museum reopened in a new facility located in "The Mo", a modern building on the town's seafront. Displays focus on the town's fishing industry and development as a holiday resort, as well as the activities of the Sheringham lifeboat station, including three original lifeboats.
The name Sheringham is of Scandinavian origin and has the meaning The Ham of Scira?s people[3]. It is thought that Scira may have been a Viking warlord who was given the land as a reward for his performance in battle. The village is located a little south west on higher ground above the town of Sheringham. The village is bound to the west by the National Trust property of Sheringham Hall and its estate. To the south is the hill line known as the Cromer Ridge.
